AALO, May 2: Members of SHG Kabu Aalo Hiko Primary Level Federation on Saturday handed over 600 homemade masks at a reasonable rate to a team of doctors led by DMO Dr Moli Riba and APDA secretary Dr Olen Tatak here in West Siang district.
The SHG’s leader, Ibom Lollen Lomi, said that “under the APDA’s ‘Mask for all’ campaign, some of the SHG’s members are engaged in cutting clothes for making masks, and those clothes are being distributed to each household for stitching in the evening.”
The womenfolk are doing it despite their preoccupation with sowing paddy in this peak season, she said.
Similarly, another SHG, Yigikaum Neli Nengo, has produced 200 such masks to be handed over to the APDA soon.
“Mask-wearing should be made a habit in view of the Covid-19 pandemic,” the DMO said.
He congratulated his team of doctors for their campaign for mask-making and physical distancing, while Dr Jumge Padu spelt out the do and don’ts during the pandemic. (DIPRO)
