NAHARLAGUN, May 2: The Indian Air Force’s eastern air command will conduct a helicopter fly-past over Tomo Riba Institute of Health & Medical Sciences (TRIHMS) here on 3 May, between 10 and 11 am, as part of the Indian armed forces’ expression of appreciation to all the ‘corona warriors’, Chief of Defence Staff, Gen Bipin Rawat, has announced.
The fly-past, which will include showering of petals on TRIHMS, the designated Covid-19 hospital of the state, is being organized to display gratitude to those on the frontline of the fight against Covid-19, including doctors, nurses, paramedics, and other related staff.
It also aims to send the message that the nation stands together and is unitedly fighting the coronavirus pandemic.
Governor BD Mishra commended the gesture of the Indian armed forces, and expressed hope that the goodwill message would “reach each and every coronavirus warrior, the police personnel, administrators, gaon burahs and NGOs.” (Raj Bhavan)
