BANDERDEWA, May 5: Chief Minister Pema Khandu said all funds from the North East Special Infrastructure Development Scheme (NESIDS) and North Eastern Council (NEC) will be diverted for the health sector for this year.
He also said that priority would be now to have a robust health infrastructure and facilities in the state.
On shortage of doctors across the state, the chief minister urged for rationalisation of doctors and medical staffs. He requested the doctors to prepare a proposal, as they would be the best to suggest on how to improve health facility in the state.
The chief minister also inspected the quarantine facility at the police-training centre (PTC) here on Tuesday. He took stock of the facilities including swab collection kiosks.
Khandu interacted with the male returnees and asked about the facilities including sanitation, quality of food and medical facilities.
He later visited the control centre of the state task force on Covid-19 at the directorate of health services office in Naharlagun and held a meeting with the officers of the task force where he was briefed on the proposed roadmap for fighting COVID-19 and other similar pandemic diseases on a long-term basis.
Thanking the task force for its dedicated effort in fighting the coronavirus, the chief minister said, “Every effort must be made to ensure that Arunachal always remain in green zone.”
He said that the main focus of the government is ensuring that 12 entry points along the Assam-Arunachal are secured. He said this must be achieved through a strong team effort from the state health department, respective district administrations and the police department. (CM’s PR Cell)
