Timeline fixed for completion of dist hospital projects

ITANAGAR, 27 Jan: A high-level review meeting on Wednesday fixed March 2023 as the timeline for the completion of all the district hospital (DH) projects.

The review meeting on upgrading and strengthening the DHs of the state, held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Pema Khandu, took stock of the status of various DH projects, worth Rs 400 crore, being funded through the RIDF, the NEC, the NLCPR, the SIDF and the NHM and being implemented through different executing agencies of the state government.

During the meeting, the CM took serious note of the delay in the implementation of works “in spite of availability of funds for the projects.”

The timeline was fixed for execution and completion of the construction work at the district hospitals in Ziro, Aalo, Tezu, Khonsa, Roing, Basar, Boleng, Changlang, Namsai, Tato, Pakke-Kessang, Raga, Bomdila and Longding, the CHCs in Seijosa and Mechuka, and the residential quarters for medical staffers at the DH in Palin by March 2023.

It was further decided that installation of equipment in the DHs in Tawang, Bomdila, Ziro, Aalo, Tezu, Namsai, Changlang, Tirap, Seppa and Yingkiong should be done by 20 February, 2021. The DHs in Namsai and Tawang will be equipped with CT scan equipment by March 2021.

Ten de-addiction centres will be made functional by March 2021 by outsourcing the work to well-experienced NGOs in the field, the meeting resolved.

The meeting was co-chaired by advisor to health minister Goruk Pordung and Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar.

Other members present at the meeting were the planning commissioner, the PWD commissioner, the health secretary, the NHM mission director, the DHS, the SID&P CE and the P&D joint director. (CM’s PR Cell)
