RUKSIN, Jan 9: The Centre for Cultural Resources Training (CCRT) under the union ministry of culture is all set to organize a weeklong cultural event for granting junior fellowship in the field of folk and traditional culture from 8 to 16 January, informed Delong Padung, National Board Member of the Arunachal Pradesh Art & Culture department.
Padung, who is presently in New Delhi, attended an interview conducted by the CCRT on Tuesday to select participants for the cultural fellowship programme. He found that no artiste from Arunachal Pradesh has applied for the interview as they were unaware of the event.
Blaming lack of publicity and inter-communication gap between the central and state ministries of art & culture, Padung said no cultural talent or enthusiasts from the frontier state has been given the opportunity to join the cultural fellowship programme.
He appealed to the officials of the Art & Culture department to make proper communication with the Arunachal and other state governments of the Northeastern region to provide a platform for the numerous artistes and cultural experts from the region.
Padung requested the union government’s cultural department to tie up national autonomous cultural organizations like the Sangeet Natak Akademi, the Lalit Kala Akademi, the Indira Gandhi Centre for Cultural Art, and the state governments of the Northeast region to ensure participation of the region’s talented artistes at national level cultural events.
Padung, a native of Ruksin in East Siang district, has bagged a number of awards in the field of art and culture.
