ITANAGAR, Jan 12: Information & Public Relations Minister Bamang Felix flagged off the IPR department’s audiovisual publicity van in a function at the civil secretariat here on Friday.
The van will be used to disseminate information about the government’s development plans to the furthest corners of the state through audiovisual devices.
The minister described the introduction of the special van as “truly historic,” and said it would provide an impetus to the government “to efficiently carry forward information to the people.”
“Earlier, in the absence of such a van in the state, information on most development programmes did not percolate down to the needy people,” Felix said, and assured to introduce more such vans in the future.
The minister said the state was forging ahead steadily on the path of unprecedented development in all spheres under the leadership of Chief Minister Pema Khandu.
Chief Secretary Satya Gopal, who was present at the function, said introducing the van was “a clear sign of ‘Arunachal Rising’,” and added that various important steps have been initiated under the leadership of the chief minister in order to accelerate the pace of development in the state.
He told the gathering that honest efforts are being made by the government to take administration closer to the people.
IPR Secretary Sonam Chombay said the chief minister was earlier concerned over the sluggish flow of information to the people, especially on important flagship projects and schemes meant for the rural people. He expressed hope that the van would go a long way to disseminate information to the people more efficiently.
IPR Special Secretary Himanshu Gupta and IPR director Obang Tayeng were also present on the occasion. DIPRO
