AALO, 19 Jun: West Siang Deputy Commissioner Moki Loyi, along with the ZPC, the Yomcha ADC, Ubu ZPM Genya Ori, Pushi ZPM Bomkar Bagra and HoDs visited Liromoba circle and
Yomcha subdivision on 17 and 18 June to take stock of the developmental activities there.
Addressing a public meeting in Liromoba, the DC said that Liromoba is one of the oldest circles of the state, and asked all the executing agencies to “take due care of every drop of development being pumped in” there. He also urged the people to cooperate with the development agencies.
The DC assured to “recommend the development needs like road end from Yomcha to Liromoba and upgrading of the PHC to CHC with infrastructure backup” to the government, “as per the genuine demands of the people.”
The 26 kms long kutcha road from Yomcha to Liromoba is well-aligned, and the soil too is fine, and once the all-weather road comes up to connect this remote circle, the agonies of the people will be mitigated in a few years, he said. The DC also exhorted the GBs to “continue the good works of justice delivery system” and said that old GBs who are not in a position to work should retire and claim old-age pension to sustain themselves.
The DC also visited the tourist lodge constructed there and advocated leasing it out to accommodate visitors and generate revenue for the government. He hailed the medical department and the people of the circle for making it a Covid-19-free circle.
At Yomcha, the DC interacted with the officers and staff of the local administration and exhorted them to inculcate work culture in the larger interest of the people of the remote areas. The DC also said that “there should not be any encroachment on government land and tussle for development works, either in Yomcha or Liromoba, as these are always detrimental for dawn of development in any place.”
ZPC Babom Romin and the public of Liromoba lamented the slow pace of development in the road and medical sectors in the circle established in the ’50s. Yomcha ADC Hento Karga stressed on “doing away with the dependence syndrome on the government, looking out for self-sustaining ways, and minimizing the jhum cultivation that sustains sources of water.”
DMO Dr Moli Riba made an exhaustive presentation on Covid-19 and vaccination drive plans in various circles of the district. Pushi ZPM Bomkar Bagra laid stress on the mushrooming drug- and alcohol-related activities among the young people. (DIPRO)
