YINGKIONG, Sep 14: Highway project executing agencies in Upper Siang district were directed to speed up the construction work by Deputy Commissioner Duly Kamduk to pave way for development in the border district.
Holding discussions with the executing agencies in a coordination meeting on Wednesday, the DC stressed on expediting the highway projects, namely the Pasighat via Mariyang to Yingkiong road and the double lane work of Jengging via Migging to Tuting road.
Attending the meeting, the ADC, RWD Executive Engineer, Commander BRTF, DFO and DLRSO also held discussions and made strategic action plan on techno-economic feasibility alignment of the proposed Arunachal Frontier Highway and existing highway projects in Upper Siang.
He directed the newly formed joint survey committee of finalization of land compensation for Tuting to Ningging to complete the task within a week, beginning from September 19 so that construction work could begin at the earliest.
Pasighat Division, EE PWD (Highway), Aken Jongkey presented the status of the Pasighat to Yingkiong highway and informed that the 19 km stretch of road from Pasighat to Singer River and the 25 km Gobuk to Yingkiong road is likely to be completed by the end of this month.
Further, the constructions work of Singer Nallah to Gobuk is going at a snail’s pace due to a skirmish between the two contractors-JKM and KNR, while the status of works from Sijon River to Singer River taken up by the NHIDCL is not satisfactory, the EE informed.
Commander of 761 BRTF, Amod Kumar Jain informed that the 53 km double lane road from Dite-Diime to Yingkiong has been approved in-principle and the road from Jengging to Migging is under process.
DFO Anying Boli stressed on forest clearance before undertaking the construction works. (DIPRO)
