PASIGHAT, 27 Oct: A three-day training programme on horticulture management practices for the citrus growers of Arunachal got underway at the College of Horticulture & Forestry (CHF) here in East Siang district on Wednesday.
Assistant Professors Drs Barun Singh, N Devachandra and PK Nimbolkar are the resource persons. They highlighted the importance of integrated nutrient management, and pest and disease management of Khasi mandarin orchards. They stressed on propagation and use of disease-free quality planting materials.
Organized under the aegis of the ICAR-AICRP on Fruits Centre here by the fruit science department of the CHF, the training is being attended by 32 farmers.
Earlier, Fruit Science HoD Dr L Wangchu addressed the participants.
Former minister Roding Pertin, who is a progressive farmer of Dambuk village, and CHF Dean Prof BN Hazarika also attended the inaugural function.
