YINGKIONG, 17 Nov: The members of Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (APSCPCR), led by Chairperson Gumri Ringu conducted a meeting with the Upper Siang district administration, police personnel, members of JJB, CWC and DCPU here on Monday last.
During the meeting, APSCPCR members Nurang Achung and Jumtum Minga spoke on topics, like roles and functions of the commission, labor laws and role of police officers in sexual abuse cases of children, RTE, JJB, POCSO Act and the victim compensation act.
Chairperson Gumri Ringu, in her address, stressed the need for every police station to have a separate child-friendly room and suggested installing drop boxes in all schools.
Further, responding to a memorandum submitted by Yingkiong unit of WWS, the chairperson assured that she will pursue with the government the sanctioning of a CCI and juvenile home for the district.
Yingkiong ADC Kabit Apang and ICDS Deputy Director-cum-DCPO Aroty Tayeng also spoke on the occasion.
The members also visited the Anganwadi centers of Simong village and interacted with the Anganwadi workers and members of the village level Child Protection Committee on Tuesday last. (DIPRO)
