DWSM holds discussions on water supply schemes

BOLENG, 17 Nov: A meeting of the District Water and Sanitation Mission (DWSM) of Siang district was convened here on Wednesday.

ASW Tumba Ingo highlighted the celebration of the programme called ‘Dus ka dum, swachhata har dam’ across the country, wherein the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation has 10 key points and activities that are to be carried out during a four-month long programme.

Executive Engineer Kaling Taki elaborated on the water supply schemes proposed under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) for approval by the 23rd State Level Scheme Selection Committee (SLSCC). He also appraised the house about the convergence of Tied-Fund available from the 15th FC. Further, he explained the members about fund break-up pattern of SBM(G) PH-II as: 70 percent from SBM fund and 30 percent from 15th FC.

While appreciating the efforts of the department of PHE & WS, Deputy Commissioner-cum- DWSM Chairman, Atul Tayeng advised the engineers to work with enthusiasm and follow up and monitor the JJM and SBM (G) PH-II works  that are being carried out in various rural villages of Siang district, and to identify the best performing villagers, to be rewarded.

He further advised the PRI leaders to cooperate with and assist the department by motivating the villagers through awareness campaigns for smooth implementation of JJM and SBM (G) Ph-II schemes.
