HAWAI, Jan 29: The Anjaw District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) organised a workshop on ‘reviving traditional textiles and handicrafts’ here on Monday, in collaboration with the Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Smiriti (GSDS), Delhi.
Addressing the participants, DRDA PD M Dirchi spoke on the need to revive traditional textiles and handicrafts, while Hawai anchal samiti chairperson C Khamblai dwelt on the importance of weaving in the traditional form, and EAC B Tawsik highlighted the programme launched by the Centre to encourage traditional weaving.
Among others, officials of the department participated in the workshop. (DIPRO)
