KHONSA, 17 Dec: The anti-drugs squad of the police and a team of CRPF, in a joint search operation, apprehended a 40-year-old drug peddler from Medical Colony here in Tirap district on the intervening night of 12 December.
Approximately 1.2 kg of opium smeared clothes worth Rs 1.5 lakh was recovered and seized from the drug peddler identified as Y. Suayang, police said.
The seizure was made in the presence of a magistrate.
The police have further launched an investigation after registering a case against the accused under section 17(b) of the NDPS Act. (DIPRO)
