HARI, 26 Apr: A three-day block-level ‘foundation-cum-functional training programme’ for gram chairpersons and gram members on the panchayati raj system through the SPICE model began here in Lower Subansiri district on Tuesday.
Resource persons from the SIRD and the panchayati raj department will be imparting training to the PRI members of Hari and Hari South zilla constituencies during the programme.
Topics like the 15th Finance Commission grant, district development plan, powers and functions of the district planning committee, social security schemes, sustainable development goals, etc, will be taken up over the three days.
Addressing the inaugural function, ADC Millo Kojin exhorted the panchayat members to gain knowledge about the panchayati raj institution and its powers and functions. He suggested to them to also “take up conservation and cleanliness works of water bodies in the valley.”
