‘Terminate illegally appointed staff’

ITANAGAR, Feb 10: Alleging that various gazetted and non-gazetted staffers were appointment illegally in the Panchayati Raj department between 2016 and 2017, the Arunachal Pradesh Anti-Corruption Andolan Committee (APACAC) has sought immediate termination of the illegally appointed candidates at the earliest.
In a release on Saturday, the committee alleged that no walk-in interviews were conducted for some of the posts, while no recruitment rules (RR) have yet been framed in the department.
The committee had submitted a complaint letter in this regard to the chief secretary on 28 December last year.
‘Despite our efforts to seek information regarding recruitment rules of the department through RTI, the department is unable to furnish the same,’ the committee said, and threatened to seek legal recourse in case the department fails to terminate the staffers soon.
