ITANAGAR, 6 Jun: The Arunachal Pradesh Women’s Welfare Society (APWWS) has expressed concern over “the treatment meted out to APCS officer Somcha Lowang,” who has been transferred out of Lower Subansiri district as deputy commissioner.
“The transfer and posting is totally prerogative of the state government and we are not questioning it; but the way she is made to face humiliation is unfortunate and setting a bad example in the society,” the APWWS stated in a release.
“The case requires intervention of the Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women, which is the statutory body established for the welfare of women in the state,” it said.
