ROING, 17 Jun: The All Puroik Students’ Union (APSU) conducted an awareness programme on the beneficial schemes for unorganised labourers here in Lower Dibang Valley (LDV) district on 15 and 16 June.
During the programme, members of the union informed the unorganised Puroik labourers about the schemes for unorganised labourers which they can avail.
The APSU members also encouraged the unorganised Puroik labourers to seek help from the district legal services authority if any problem arises.
A press release from the APSU claimed that “unorganised Puroik labourers informed the union that they are subjected to exploitation by the contractors during the time of payment.”
“Unorganised Puroik labourers’ children are being kept as mortgage if unorganised Puroik labourers are unable to complete the work or have any due,” the release further claimed.
The APSU extended help to the unorganised Puroik workers in registering for the eShram and the Chief Minister Arogya Arunachal Yojana.
The union also submitted a representation to the LDV DC with a request to provide “any kinds of assistance in the time of need” to the unorganised Puroik labourers in the district, the release added.
