ITANAGAR, 25 Jun: Chief Secretary Dharmendra Pradhan on Saturday inspected the under-construction Donyi Polo greenfield airport here and directed the work agencies, including the Airports Authority of India (AAI) and state government agencies, to speed up the work and set a timeline for completion of all the works before 14 July, “so that the regulatory authority requirement and licensing process can be completed by the end of July and the target for commissioning the airport in August can be met.”
The CS was accompanied by Principal Secretary Sandeep Kumar, Principal Finance Secretary Sharat Chauhan, Civil Aviation Secretary Swapnil M Naik and the Papum Pare deputy commissioner.
After inspecting the ongoing works, the team held a review meeting with all the stakeholders regarding the works in progress.
The chief secretary directed the AAI officials to “expedite the process for obtaining licenses of various authorities including DGCA, BCAS, state pollution control board and other local authority permissions, etc.”
He appealed to all concerned to ensure that no work is extended beyond 15 July.
