KULLUNG, 17 Nov: The NRC on Yak, in collaboration with the Papum Pare KVK, conducted a training programme on ‘Backyard poultry farming for alternate income generation of the tribal farmers’ here in Papum Pare district on 16 November.
Kullung village, in Mengio circle, has been listed centrally as one of the aspirational villages. The training programme was attended by 70 farmers of the village, besides farmers from Tapo and Killing villages.
They were apprised of scientific knowledge with regard to backyard poultry farming.
Improved varieties of backyard poultry (Vanaraja), along with feeds, feeder and basic veterinary medicines were distributed among the farmers.
Speakers included Dr D Medhi and Dr V Paul of the NRC on Yak, KVK Head (i/c) Dr B Perme, and Kullung GPC Gollo Tana.
