NAHARLAGUN, Feb 27: A 25-day residential diploma course on Yoga Education (D Y Ed) for 23 youths, including 14 girls from 11 districts of the state, concluded at the Seva Dham in Lekhi Village on Monday.
The programme was organized by the Seva Bharti Arunachal Pradesh, in association with the Yog Gurukul Asom (YGA).
Addressing the valedictory function, Health and Family Welfare Special Secretary Tapasya Raghav described yoga as one of the oldest sciences in the world, which originated in India.
“Yoga is very useful for preserving and maintaining one’s physical and mental health and for spiritual evolution”, she said.
RGU Professor Jumyir Basar explained the practical implications of yoga, while senior teacher Nandita Gopal highlighted the importance of yoga in one’s life.
Arunachal Pradesh Seva Bharti Prant Pracharak, Dr Sunil Kumar Mohanty also spoke on the occasion.
