SEPPA, Feb 27: In a move to build better coordination and cooperation in implementation of government schemes for the welfare of the people, a coordination meeting with heads of offices of the district was convened here on Tuesday.
Presiding over the meeting, East Kameng Deputy Commissioner Gaurav Singh Rajawat touched upon all important aspects from different sectors being implemented by various departments of the district.
Discussing about law and order and disaster management issues, the DC enquired about the status of strength of police personnel, control unit and crime rate, District Disaster Management Plan and level of severity of natural calamity in the area.
Departments concerned were also directed to install security cameras in all strategic locations, submit inventory for fire squad and disaster management and conduct of mock drills at regular intervals, in collaboration with the NDRF for disaster preparedness.
On the cleanliness front, Rajawat enquired about the status of segregation of wastes and its disposal and cautioned against dumping of wastes directly into the river. He further directed the UD & Housing Department to conceptualize a plan and time table entailing proper segregation of wastes, and lifting and disposal of garbage twice a day daily.
He further directed to issue necessary directive to all shopkeepers to install dustbins in every shop. He also directed the PWD and UD & Housing to clean and keep proper maintenance of drains across the Seppa Township.
Under SBM, DC enquired about the status of open defecation and number of households with proper toilet facility in Seppa town and asked the department concerned to conduct survey and furnish the report by 15 March.
Rajawat informed that education and health departments will be accorded top most priority while conceptualization of proposals under BADP in coming fiscal session.
He further enquired about the position of all health facility and functional schools of the district and urged the DDSE and DMO to assess and submit report detailing all the requirements of their respective departments for necessary endorsement.
Enquiring about the position of drinking water supply and number of household with tap water connection, he opined to make a visit to the water treatment plant and advised the work departments to maintain caution to avoid snapping of water pipeline while executing any development work.
Enquiring about beneficiaries under PDS and PMUY, the DC asked the DF&CSO to collect the mobile numbers and aadhaar cards of all beneficiaries covered under NFSA by 31st March.
The DC also enquired about all major projects that are completed and undergoing in the district and directed the executing agencies, particularly the RWD and PWD, to submit status reports of all road projects being implemented by them.
He further directed the PWD to prepare a time schedule ensuring periodic examination and maintenance of Tari and Type III suspension bridges.
To devise measures to prevent illegal encroachment, the DC directed the UD & Housing Department and PWD to furnish map along with RoW of all roads across the Seppa Township.
Teh DC also directed the Power Department to submit status report of activities taken under DDUGJY and suggested for preparation of proposal for installation of street lights across the town.
He further directed the Planning Department to submit constituency-wise break up of proposals under MLALAD and status report of all works being undertaken under MSDP. He also instructed the DRDA to ask all BDOs to apprise and obtain necessary approval of all proposals of this financial year prior to execution of work.
The DC urged all stakeholders to coordinate and assist and work as a team for overall development of the district. He has assured to extend all possible assistance from his side for holistic and robust development of the district.
