Football fraternity mourns death of promising referee

NAHARLAGUN, Feb 27: Football fraternity of the state expressed shock and grief over the untimely demise of First Class state football referee Taba Tania (Nakam) on Tuesday morning at Shillong, Meghalaya.
Tania had met with an accident few days ago and was undergoing treatment at Shillong.
“We are shocked and saddened to hear about the demise of Nakam. We still cannot believe that he is no more,” said Arunachal Pradesh Football Association (APFA) general secretary Kipa Ajay.
“Nakam was a young, promising and one of the best football referees of our state. His premature demise is a great loss for the state’s football,” he said.
Nakam was the main referee of the last Tadar Tang State Level Football Tournament.
Ajay, on behalf of the APFA and football fraternity of the state, extended deep condolence to the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul.
Naharlagun United FC also deeply mourned the untimely demise of Nakam and conveyed heartfelt condolence to the bereaved family to withstand the tragedy.
The Arunachal Olympic Association (AOA) also deeply mourned the death of Tania.
AOA Secretary General Abraham Kaya Techi said that Tania’s death is a great loss for the sports fraternity of the state.
Abraham, on behalf of the AOA and entire sports fraternity of the state, conveyed deep sense of condolence to the bereaved family.
