ITANAGAR, Mar 7: The Capital Complex Nagrik Bhaichara Samity has discussed various issues of the Capital region, including traffic regulation and illegal gambling, in a meeting held at the Capital SP office here in Ganga on Wednesday.
Presiding over the meeting, SP Capital Sagar Singh Kalsi sought support from the general masses for a crime-free society.
Stressing on mass awareness programmes on traffic management, drug abuse and women empowerment, with involvement of NGOs, he called upon the road users to strictly abide by traffic rules.
Informing that the state government has totally banned gambling, he cautioned that strict action would be taken if anyone was found involved in gambling.
Kalsi also highlighted the activities of the Samity in various parts of the capital to keep people aware of traffic rules.
Several complaints against roadside vendors/hawkers, which cause traffic jam, have been received from Itanagar area, including Gohpur Tinali and the administration has taken up initiatives for free traffic movement, said Itanagar OC Tabi Bage.
During the meeting, many members raised the issues of traffic jam, construction of four-lane at Itanagar area, roadside hawkers, illegal gambling in various parts of capital complex and also pointed out the need of police outposts in important locations of the Itanagar area.
Among others, Itanagar SDPO Kamdam Sikom, DySP R Kmasi, OC Women PS Chukhu Nani Bui, Banderdewa OC K Yangfo and samity members from Naharalgun, Nirjuli and Banderdewa attended the meeting.
