ITANAGAR, Mar 9: The Arunachal Law Students Union (ALSU) has staged dharna in favour of its eight-point demands at the Tennis Court here on Friday.
The main demands of the Union include repeal of Arunachal Unlawful (Prevention) Activities Act-2014, implementation of permanent land law and forest act, reinstatement of Chief Minister’s bungalow, implementation of Lokayukta, establishment of juvenile home, independent High Court, CJM and other subordinate courts in each district of the state, removal of posts of parliamentary secretaries as per supreme court order.
Talking to media persons, ALSU President Romik Jogu said that the Arunachal Unlawful (Prevention) Activities Act-2014 needs to be repealed as it has been misused many a times. He further said that as per the Supreme Court order the posts of Parliamentary secretaries should be abolished.
Threatening to launch democratic movement in favour of its demands, the ALSU lamented that the demands were placed a year ago but the state Govt did not pay any heed to it demands till today.
