PASIGHAT, Mar 10: The three-day capacity building training programme entitled ‘Rainwater harvesting and its management for horticultural crops’ concluded on 9 March at the College of Horticulture and Forestry, Central Agricultural University (CAU), Pasighat.
The course aimed to upgrade the skill and knowledge of participants with the latest advancement in rain water harvesting structures, their design and construction, soil and watermanagement techniques, importance of soil testing and cultivation package of practices of horticultural crops.
Thirty two trainees, including line department officers of the Government of Arunachal Pradesh, namely Soil Conservation, Agriculture, Horticulture, Extension Personnel, DRDA officers and SMs of KVK, Upper Siang and KVK, Anjaw participated in the programme.
Course director of the training programme CHF, CAU (Pasighat) Asstt Prof, Dr S K Pattanaik; College of Agriculture, CAU, Kyrdemkulai, Meghalaya Dean Dr U K Behera; CHF, CAU (Pasighat) Dean, Dr A K Pandey and COA, CAU (Pasighat) Dean Dr B N Hazarika also attended the programme.
Held from 7 to 9 March, the training was sponsored by the Director Extension Education, CAU, Imphal (Manipur) and ATARI (ICAR), Barapani, Meghalaya.
