PASIGHAT, Mar 12: Forty five extension functionaries from across the state attended a state level workshop on ‘Organic Farming-Issues and Strategies’, organized by the College of Agriculture, CAU, Pasighat on 10 March.
The resource persons held interactive discussions with the functionaries and it was felt that organic farming is the need of the hour. They opined that Arunachal Pradesh can lead in this direction as vast area of land is untouched by hazardous chemicals.
The programme concluded with a plenary session, followed by a valedictory programme where certificates of participation were distributed.
Dean of the College Prof B N Hazarika, Dr A K Pandey, Dean, College of Horticulture and Forestry, CAU, Pasighat; Dr U K Behera, Dean, College of Agriculture, Meghalaya and other resource persons interacted with the participants.
