PANGIN, Mar 12: An urgent coordination meeting regarding cent percent Aadhaar enrolment of school children under all schools and Anganwadi centres of the ICDS department of entire Siang district was convened on Monday at the DC’s conference hall here to get first hand information on the issues pertaining to achievement of cent percent coverage target and to come up with measures for achieving the target.
Chairing the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Rahul Singh elaborately emphasised on the significance of possession of Aadhaar card, especially by school children to avail various social welfare programme benefits and sought active cooperation and participation from all Education department functionaries for realising this objective.
Assuring provision of all necessary logistics and manpower support by the district administration, he gave strict directions to the Education department and the ICDS department to expedite the enrolment process in order to achieve the target of cent percent coverage by 31st March, 2018.
In-charge District Statistic s officer CO Dr Rani Mibang shortlisted and gave a detailed presentation on the number of secondary and elementary level schools with below average Aadhaar enrolment percentage in the district and sought feedback from concerned authorities for the failure in speedy enrolment despite availability of adequate manpower and machinery in all the circles of the district.
Along with Siang DDSE Tanyang Tatak and MDM coordinator Amitabh Pejik, a total of around 40 participants comprising BEOs, CRCCs, school head masters and principals participated in the meeting. (DIPRO)
