PAMPOLI, 16 Jul: The East Kameng Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) here celebrated the foundation day of the Indian Council of Agriculture Research (ICAR) on its premises on Tuesday.
To mark the occasion, the KVK conducted a farmers-scientists interaction programme, during which the farmers had their queries related to agriculture and related activities answered.
Forty-eight farmers and farmwomen from Pampoli and Mebua village attended the programme, which ended with distribution of improved variety of sesamum seeds, along with a briefing on the scientific cultivation of sesamum.
However, “the KVK staff wore black badges to show their resentment against the ICAR’s discrimination towards KVKs under host organisations other than ICAR,” the KVK informed in a release.
