DNGC students stage Hindi plays

ITANAGAR, 17 Apr: The 4th and 6th semester students of Dera Natung Government College (DNGC) staged four Hindi plays at the college’s Orchid Lawn here on Wednesday, in the presence of a large number of students and faculty members.

The initiative was part of the DNGC Hindi department’s effort to integrate academic learning with creative expression.

The 4th semester students performed three dynamic plays: ‘Sindoor Ki Holi’ by Lakshmi Narayan Mishra; ‘Anjo Didi’ by Upendranath Ashk; and ‘Bakri’ by Sarveshwar Dayal Sakshena.

The 6th semester students presented Girish Karnad’s masterpiece ‘Hayavadana’. Through their performance they delivered a thought-provoking message to the spectators.

Hindi Department Assistant Professors Dr Mema Chiri and Dr Nguri Shanti coordinated the event.

Commending the dedication of the students and the faculty members involved in the event, Hindi HoD Dr Joram Aniya Tana said: “Such events not only nurture language skills but also build confidence and teamwork.”

The students managed all aspects of the performances – from scripting and direction to acting and stage design – highlighting the rich talent and collaborative spirit within the department.
