ASVS founder Shantanu Raghunath Shende dies

NAHARLAGUN, Apr 25: Shantanu Raghunath Shende, the first teacher of RK Mission School, Aalo and founder of Arunachal Shiksha Vikas Samiti (ASVS) schools in Arunachal Pradesh passed away on April 22 last, at Kalyan, Mumbai. He was 84.
Born on 4th November 1934 at Mumbai Maharashtra, Shantanu Shende had a double Masters Degree in Sociology and Political Science. He joined RK Mission School, Aalo in 1965.
He was also the founder of Arunachal Shiksha Vikas Samiti and opened schools at Pachin, Changlang, Ziro, Likabali, Ngorlung, Pasighat, Palin, Bomdila etc. In 2002, Shende was elevated to the post of National Secretary of Vidya Bharati Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Sansthan.
Meanwhile, the Arunachal Shiksha Vikas Samiti has organized condolence meetings at its schools in Pachin, Naharlagun and Pasighat.
At Pachin, the meeting was attended by Advisor to CM Tai Tagak among others.
