ITANAGAR, Apr 26: The All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU) has welcomed the 5th meeting of the Joint High Powered Committee, scheduled to be held here on 27 April, to discuss issues relating to Chakma and Hajong refugees of Arunachal Pradesh.
The meeting will be held under the chairmanship of the union home affairs ministry’s joint secretary (North East).
The AAPSU said it hopes for the participation of all stakeholders, including the deputy commissioners and the principal chief conservator of forests to provide vivid accounts on the issue from the affected areas.
Though the joint secretary had assured to hold the meeting in February, it was not held as originally scheduled, the union said.
