TEZU, Apr 27: Defence Ministry Deputy Secretary AK Agrawal and Steel Ministry Deputy Secretary AK Kailoo visited Lohit district on Friday to assess the implementation of seven flagship programmes under the Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (GSA) in six identified villages in Tezu and Sunpura circles.
The central observers visited Hucheliang, Loiliang and Tafragam villages in Tezu circle and reviewed the implementation of all seven GSA programmes there.
The seven flagship programmes include the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY), the Ujala Scheme, the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, and Mission Indradhanush.
The observers informed the villagers that, under the expanded PMUY criteria, beneficiaries under Antyodaya Anna Yojana and Indira Awas Yojana are also eligible for PMUY.
They asked the officials of the departments concerned to complete the process of providing LPG connections, electricity connections, opening of bank accounts, etc, on or before 5 May.
Banks will set up camps in the three villages to facilitate the villagers.
The team was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner (in-charge) Kajal Karmakar and other officials. (DIPRO)
