TUTING, 14 May: The Spearhead Gunners of the Indian Army conducted a ‘Seema Arogya Abhiyan – Healing at the Last Mile’ programme at Singa village in Upper Siang district on Wednesday.

The initiative was aimed at reaching one of the remotest frontier regions of Arunachal Pradesh, where even basic medical and civic facilities remain largely unavailable beyond Tuting.

In a humanitarian outreach, the Indian Army brought essential healthcare services and medical awareness directly to the tribal communities of Upper Siang district, reaffirming its unwavering commitment towards the welfare of border residents living in extreme isolation.

The villagers expressed gratitude and appreciation for the noble gesture undertaken by the Indian Army, as access to medical assistance in the region is extremely scarce.

The outreach generated immense goodwill among the local populace, who hailed the initiative as a lifeline for the community.

During the medical camp, 45 villagers were screened and provided treatment by the Army medical officer. The camp also focused on spreading awareness regarding basic healthcare, hygiene and preventive medical practices, thereby strengthening the bond between the Indian Army and the local communities residing in the far-flung border area.
