ITANAGAR, May 10: The All Arunachal Contractor’s Welfare Association (AACWA) urged the chief secretary to issue necessary instructions to the PWD commissioner to direct the department and contractors to speed up the ongoing repair and maintenance work on the Chimpu-Itanagar -Jully road while also maintaining quality.
The association claimed that funds worth crores are sanctioned against the particular road every financial year, but it does not survive for even a single monsoon season due to poor quality of work.
It also claimed that the contractor is not maintaining quality and the work is progressing very slowly.
The AACWA further said that government officers at various departments are also not raising questions on the quality of work by contractors.
