PASIGHAT, May 15: Disaster Management Parliamentary Secretary Kaling Moyong inaugurated a 200-kv DG power unit and a PS overhead tank at Bakin Pertin General Hospital (BPGH) on Tuesday on the occasion of Etor Giddii festival.
Moyong greeted the people on the festive occasion, and also thanked the power and the PHE departments for completing the assigned works on time.
Funds were provided under the SIDF and the SADA for the DG set and for installation of two 200 kv and one 250 kv power transformers, besides allied electrification, to maintain optimum level of sophisticated healthcare setting in the hospital.
Earlier, there were complaints from the public that services like X-ray, ultrasound, etc, were affected by low voltage, and that patients had to go outside the district to avail of the services, following which the MLA took an initiative.
Rs 35 lakh was also received under the SIDF for boring and construction of a pump house with a 15 kv silent gen-set and the PS overhead tank to meet the demand of the hospital administration, the MLA said.
Among others, DMO Dr M Perme, MS Dr YR Darang, East Siang DC Tamiyo Tatak, JDHS Dr D Raina, and Chief Councillor Kaling Doruk were present on the occasion. (DIPRO)
