ITANAGAR, Jun 11: The press fraternity of Arunachal Pradesh has deeply mourned the sudden demise of noted journalist Xavier Rutsa, who passed away on 11 May, at the age of 42, at his residence in Kohima, Nagaland, following a stroke.
Rutsa, who started his career in journalism with the Nagaland Post, was serving his second term as the president of the Kohima Press Club. He was also a senior correspondent for the Times of India.
“The Arunachal Press Club, the Arunachal Pradesh Union of Working Journalists and the Arunachal Electronic Media Association share the pain of the Nagaland press fraternity in losing one of their most important members, and extend our heartfelt condolences to them,” said APUWJ president Amar Sangno on the sideline of a two-minute silence observed by the state’s press fraternity at the press club here to pay their respects to the departed soul.
Sangno extended condolences to the bereaved family on behalf of the Arunachal press fraternity.
“Our words may not give much relief to the grieving family members of late Rutsa, but we want to inform that our minds and prayers are with them during this difficult phase of their lives,” he said.
“We also pray to the almighty for eternal peace of the departed soul, and for strength to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss,” Sangno said.
