YINGKIONG, Sep 27: The District Tobacco Control Cell (DTCC), Yingkiong organised an anti- tobacco school programme at Saint Thomas Residential School and Saint Mary’s Residential School on September 22 and 25.
During the programme, DTCC Consultant Goyir Ada gave a brief presentation on the harmful effects of tobacco on health, environment and overall development of the nation.
The Consultant appealed to the students not to use any kind of tobacco products and also to stop their family and relatives from using any kind of tobacco products.
The DTCC sensitized the teaching staff and school principal about the COTPA Act regulation in school campuses.
The awareness programme was conducted under the supervision of DPO, Dr India Modi, with support of District Programme Coordinator NPCDCS and Consultant NVBDCP. (DIPRO)
