ITANAGAR, Jul 11: The Arunachal Pradesh State Council for Science & Technology, department of Science and Technology, under the programme ‘Sci-Connect: connecting science with young talents with science’, conducted a screen test for students of registered schools of the state for selection of candidates in the regional level science quiz competition.
In total, 886 students appeared for the test, out of which, 15 have been selected to participate in the regional level science quiz competition to be held at Mizoram during the first week of August, informed Deputy Director (Technical), AP State Council for Science and Technology Pakngu Lombi, in a release.
The test was conducted in collaboration with Vigyan Prasar at different centres in Arunachal Pradesh on 10 July.
‘Sci-Connect: Connecting science with young talents with science’, is a first of its kind programme designed and initiated by the Vigyan Prasar, an autonomous organisation under the department of Science and Technology, Government of India, especially for children of the eight North Eastern states of India.
The objective of the programme is to sensitise young children from upper primary to secondary levels about science in daily life, the release said.
