SAGALEE, Jul 12: Sixty-four members of various SHGs under the Sagalee ArSRLM, along with beneficiaries of rural employment-cum-training schemes benefited from the prime minister’s ‘direct samvad’ programme on Thursday morning.
The programme was arranged by the ArSRLM department here in Papum Pare district.
“SHGs form the basis of the economic growth of the poor, especially women. For women empowerment, the most important requirement is to provide them the opportunity to recognize their own powers, abilities and skills,” said Prime Minister Narendra Modi while interacting with more than 10 million women SHG members across the country through video conference.
In Tawang, the Krishi Vigyan Kendra broadcast the PM’s interaction programme in its training hall. Altogether 57 women farmers participated. In Namsai, the PM’s telecast was witnessed by 39 women from 5 SHGs of Momong village, while in Tirap, 73 SHGs under the UD department and the Deomali NERCORMP, including farm women, benefited.
