ITANAGAR, Jul 12: Tibetan Parliament in Exile (TPiE) member Pema Jungney called on Governor BD Mishra at Raj Bhavan here on 12 July.
Jungney conveyed the gratitude of the TPiE towards India and its people for helping the Tibetan cause and Tibetan people in the last 60 years.
The governor shared his experience of his visit to Tibet region in the early 1990s, and expressed hope that the rich cultural heritage of Tibet, “which is embodied with peace and humanism, will continue to promote amity and brotherhood amongst the people of the world.”
Jungney was accompanied by fellow TPiE MP Lama Kunga Sothup, and the Central Tibetan Administration’s Tenzingang Settlement Officer GT Yangdup.
Earlier, Jungney briefed the governor on the current situation in Tibet. (PRO, Raj Bhavan)
