WALONG, Aug 2: Government departments and agencies provided services to the people here in Anjaw district on Wednesday as part of the ‘sarkaar aapke dwar’ programme.
During the programme, which was inaugurated by DC Mamata Riba, the medical department carried out tests and distributed IEC materials, while the veterinary department distributed medicines for cattle. Distribution of saplings by the forest department, and seeds and utilities by the agriculture and horticulture departments were also carried out. The PHE&WS department distributed plumbing equipments and provided training in plumbing, under the supervision of EE D Tago.
The APEDA distributed LED lamps under the Ujjala Scheme, the sports & youth affairs department distributed sports articles, and the disaster management department distributed lifesaving implements.
On-the-spot registration for flagship programmes, issuance of old-age pension by the ICDS, registration of cards and distribution of welfare kits by the labour & employment department and the APL&OCWB, and issuing of ST, PRC, etc, certificates by the general administration were the other highlights of the programme.
Earlier in the day, the DC along with DRDA PD Mito Dirchi and other visited Musai village to assess the status of the recently completed projects there, such as additional classrooms, teachers’ quarters, skill development centre, and children’s playground, as a part of the model village infrastructure funded under the BADP.
