KANUBARI, Aug 3: The police here in Longding district on Thursday apprehended 16 labourers without inner line permits (ILP) from different work sites.
ADC Taro Mize informed that ILP checking has been intensified here in view of the publication of the draft NRC in Assam.
“There is apprehension of possible mass influx of labourers to Arunachal Pradesh who have not found their name in the NRC list,” Mize said.
The arrested labourers were later externed from the area.
“With this, the total arrest so far has gone upto 24 within three days of ILP checking, and the process of checking ILP will continue in the area,” Mize said.
