BHALUKPONG, Aug 6: Former Arunachal Pradesh State Medicinal Plant Board vice-chairman Soni Degio died on Sunday morning. Degio was a social worker, and was associated with several social welfare activities in Bhalukpong area in particular and West Kameng district in general.
Reportedly, he suffered a cardiac arrest at around 1 am.
Degio was born in 1970 in Pichang village in Bana circle under East Kameng district. He was earlier associated with the Congress party for more than 20 years, and had served as PCC secretary and as general secretary of the Degio Welfare Society (DWS).
The Arunachal Pradesh Youth Congress has mourned Degio’s demise. In a release, it informed that Degio had served in various capacities, including as general secretary of the Congress’ youth wing.
The Aka Welfare Society Bana (East Kameng district) and the Degio Welfare Society also mourned the demise of the social worker.
