ITANAGAR, Aug 23: The state unit of the Anna Samarthak called on organisations and individuals not to use the name of the Anna Samarthak in carrying out their activities unless they are affiliated with the state unit of the Anna Samarthak or the Anna Samarthak Ralegan Sidhi.
Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, state Anna Samarthak convenor Ram Bachche, flanked by other members of the organisation, said they have received complaints that an organisation by the name of ‘Arunachal Anti-Corruption Sena-Anna Samarthak (AACS-AS)’ has filed complaints and RTI applications against former minister Tsering Gyume, TK Engineering Consortium Pvt Ltd, and most recently against Hydro Power CMD Tungri Effa.
The Anna Samarthak members claimed that the president of the AACS-AS, Kurung Dolo, had made a complaint against Effa, and the state unit Anna Samarthak was instead sent a letter from Effa in response to the allegations.
In apprehension that the name of their organisation is being misused or dragged in complaints which it is not party to, the state unit Anna Samarthak has already written to the Itanagar deputy commissioner over the misuse of the organisation’s name.
The members informed that the case has since been resolved, with the verdict that no other organisation, without affiliation or permission from the Arunachal unit of the Anna Samarthak, shall be allowed to use or tag the name ‘Anna Samarthak’ to their banner.
“We are a different organisation and we do not have a hand in false allegations, complaints or RTIs,” the Anna Samarthak members said.
The organisation also cautioned that if any organisation or individual violates the warning, they would be liable to face legal action.
“We welcome anyone who wants to lend us a helping hand in our fight against corruption, but we won’t allow the misuse of Annaji’s name so that some organisation or individual get to fulfill their petty desires,” Bachche said, and called on those who wish to join their cause to get affiliation through a letter of affidavit.
