ITANAGAR, Sep 16: The city unit of the BJP has urged the people to donate generously in cash and kind for the people affected by the flashflood and landslides that occurred in Modirijo and Donyi Polo Vidya Bhawan Colony on Friday.
Participating in a donation drive organised by the unit at the legislative assembly campus here on Sunday, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein said the state government would extend all possible help and provide assistance to the affected people for their rehabilitation.
City BJP president Tarh Soping appealed to all to donate voluntarily for the victims, while city BJP unit in-charge Tarh Tarak urged the party leaders and workers to support people in need of assistance.
State BJP president Tapir Gao, Minister Honchun Ngandam, MLAs Techi Kaso, Zingnu Namchoom, Paknga Bage, Karya Bagang, Kardo Nyigyor and Olom Panyang, former IMC chief councillor Hegio Aruni, and Yuva Morcha president Taring Teri also participated in the donation drive and contributed.
