SEPPA, Sep 22: Renowned priest and senior most gaon burah (GB) of East Kameng district, Kadang Dawe, passed away on 21 September at Taluku New Seppa.
He was 90 years old, and leaves behind his wife, three sons, and as many daughters.
Dawe became a GB at the age of 35, and settled many highly sensitive cases, including murder. He was the torchbearer of Rang village in particular and East Kameng district as whole.
The Nyishi Elite Society deeply mourned the demise of Dawa, and prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul.
“He was a straight-forward and committed person,” the NES said, and described his death as great loss for the Nyishi community.
“His death has created a huge vacuum in the priests’ institutions,” the NES said.
