ITANAGAR, Oct 12: A team of officials led by Dr Tayek Talom, Director, Higher & Technical Education visited Wangcha Rajkumar Govt. College, Deomali, Rang Frah Govt. College, Changlang, Govt. Polytechnic, Namsai, Indira Gandhi Govt. College, Tezu, Jomin Tayeng Model College & Govt. Polytechnic, Roing from October 8 to 12.
In WR Govt. College, Deomali, academic building (G+1) with a project cost of Rs. 1.00 Crore constructed from RUSA fund was found completed. The team expressed satisfaction with the quality of the project. However, construction of academic building and residential quarters being constructed from SADA were not up to the expectation. Dr. Talom categorically instructed the executing agency and the contractors to maintain the quality and quantity of the projects. He also requested the Principal and the faculties to play a pro- active role in the project implementation to ensure quality works. Periodical monitoring of the ongoing projects must be conducted by the Principal and the college development committee, he added.
In R F Govt. College, Changlang the visiting team requested the executing agency to speed up the construction activities for early completion of the ongoing projects. In Govt. Polytechnic, Namsai, the workshop building with a project cost of Rs. 50.00 Lakhs constructed under SADA is on the verge of completion. The team urged the executing agency to rectify some cracks developing in the academic building.
The team also visited the site for establishment of Greenfield Science College at Namsai which was led by ADC, Namsai. However, the site could not be finalized due to shortages of area at the site shown to the team. After visiting, the matter was discussed in length with the Deputy Commissioner, Namsai and the local MLA Zignu Namchoom. The DC assured to identify a suitable site of around 20-30 acres for the college.
