NEW DELHI, Dec 23: The Arunachal Pradesh State Cooperative Apex Bank Ltd received the SKOCH Order of Merit Award for its efforts in the area of financial inclusion.
The award, which was received by Apex Bank Administrator Habung Lampung, was given on 22 December during the 55th SKOCH summit here.
The award is given for ‘innovative and replicable approaches’, and as per the evaluations of the jury. The Apex Bank received the award for its efforts towards providing banking services to the people, especially in un-banked remote areas of the state, said an official statement.
“The Apex Bank has been trying to provide banking services through innovative and replicable approaches in the un-banked villages through Sarkar Aapke Dwar and financial literacy camps, through self-help groups, ‘Go Digital’ camps, and IT products like micro-ATMs, so that the people in the un-banked areas are connected to banking services,” it said.
