LEKHIPATHER, Jan 17: Thirty-one farmers along with extension functionaries participated in a field day programme on ‘integrated pest management in rapeseed cultivation’ conducted here by the Tirap KVK on 17 January.
The programme was conducted as part of the cluster frontline demonstration under the National Food Security Mission.
Addressing the participants, agronomist Dr Simanta Kumar Kalita explained the different aspects of scientific cultivation of rapeseed, besides integrated pest management and its importance for farmers.
KVK scientists showed the farmers the superior quality of scientifically cultivated rapeseed on demonstration plots. They also replied to various queries from the farmers regarding field crop cultivation.
Dr Kalita urged the farmers to avail of the benefits provided by the KVK, and assured to provide technical assistance for promotion of better crops production in the villages.
