ITANAGAR, Mar 6: The farmers and the members of Farmers Producers Companies (FPCs) of Arunachal Pradesh interacted directly with overseas importers during the Export Promotion Conference and International Buyer-Seller meet on agricultural products of North East Region at Guwahati, Assam on Tuesday.
Few of the FPCs have even been able to get orders for supply
of their organic agro produces, which has encouraged and motivated them to increase their commercial activities, informed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Arunachal Pradesh Agriculture Marketing Board (Department of Agriculture) Okit Palling.
The state team was led by Joint Director, Department of Agriculture Tadu Game and APAMB CEO Okit Palling.
Ten FPCs under Mission Organic Value Chain Development and few other agro exports and exporters from the state participated in the meet, which was inaugurated by Assam Chief Secretary Alok Kumar and Additional Chief Secretary of the state Ravi Kapoor.
Organized by Agriculture Processed Food Products Exports Development Authority (APEDA), Ministry of Commerce in collaboration with Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the buyer-seller meet cum conference was participated by buyers, importers and exporters from different countries, farmer-producer companies and organizations, investors, service and machine suppliers and host of government officers from all the Northeastern states.
